Maxwell was born into a church family. His father was a pastor in the Wesleyan Church and very early in his life, John knew he was to pursue the same calling. After attending Circleville Bible College in Ohio he moved with his new wife Margaret to Hillham, Indiana to pastor a small Wesleyan Church there. It was in Hillham that many of Maxwell’s principles of growth, leadership, and personal development began to germinate.
